Overview

Martín E. Strauch is a partner in the Investment Funds Group based in the Washington, D.C., office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Martín advises clients on fundraising, operations, securities laws and other matters related to their funds. Martín has counseled some of the world’s leading established asset managers as well as new and emerging managers on traditional private equity funds, secondaries funds, funds of funds, single investor funds and separate accounts in many different asset classes, including credit, buyout, real estate, infrastructure and growth. Martín also has extensive experience with secondary transactions, anchor investor and revenue sharing arrangements, GP-level transactions and internal governance agreements, syndications, single asset funds, co-investments, portfolio company transactions, conflicts analysis and regulatory compliance.

Martín was selected by Law360 as a 2021 “Rising Star” in fund formation. He was also included in the second edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for his work in corporate law.

Martín’s clients have included several prominent asset managers, including Aksia, Angelo Gordon, Ares Management, Bain Capital, BDT & MSD, CenterNode Group, Derby Lane, Fortress Investment Group, Goldman Sachs, SQ Capital and StepStone Group.
